Yes, I can see overall other places on the forum in other Paul and Beatles threads that you usually write informed, researched posts. it's no wonder that John and George didn't want to continue to play music with him. I knew that was wrong right away, but Paul is well known for his ego. I agree, but interestingly enough, I saw a more recent video of MOK and in the credits in large bold font it said "Written by Paul McCartney". Columbia offered Paul a buttload of money that they knew they would never earn back and Paul jumped ship for 4 albums, then went right back to Capitol, probably after extracting another buttload of money from them. I didn't know that that was why Paul went to Columbia - at the time it seemed to be all about money. As others have said, Denny sold to Paul after the song was a huge hit so he (Denny) knew there would be future royalties and chose to sell anyway. Denny probably could have made more money long-term if he had just held on to his portion of the song, but people in general and rock stars in particular don't always make the best decisions money-wise. I had never heard anything about the bagpipe players but I remember hearing about this - Denny was hard up for cash and Paul made him an offer. I bought the single and played Girl's School over and over. Then I heard that it was huge in Scotland and England - I assumed that it was a cultural thing. A listenable song and the bagpipes make it kind of cool, but it just didn't seem like single material. I heard MOK on the radio in California a few times when it came out and was perplexed that this was Paul's new single.
